Tuchel Criticizes Home Crowd Support Following Dominant Win Over Wales.

The England head coach shared his regret that the Three Lions team did not receive greater backing from the home spectators during their commanding 3-0 friendly victory on Thursday night.

Tuchel was satisfied to see his team continue their good form, with strikes from Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the opening quarter deciding the match. However, he was unhappy with the atmosphere at the national stadium.

“We had limited training days to get ready against a organized team and we did very well,” the coach remarked. “It could have been five goals ahead at the break. We missed the fourth and fifth goals. It was quiet. We didn’t get support back from the stands. We did everything to win.”

“How much more can you deliver in the first quarter? We prevented them escape. When you only hear just Wales fans for 30 minutes, it’s regrettable because the squad warranted more support today.”

“I maintain my words. We cannot do more than leading 3-0 in a rivalry match. I hoped for a little more backing in phases where it is challenging.”

“After halftime, to get behind us, there was excessive backing for the opposition. It could have helped us to regain energy, but that’s football and that is it.”

Selection Choices Vindicated by Display

Away from risking a fight with fans, Tuchel also raised eyebrows by omitting Jude Bellingham and Foden from his squad. Yet the decision was backed up by Morgan Rogers delivering another standout performance in the No 10 position and getting his first international goal.

“That’s his style,” the head coach said. “He is a No 10 and he is vying for his place.”

Wales Manager Seeks Lessons from Defeat

The Wales manager expressed hope that his team, who host a strong Belgian side in a important World Cup qualifier on next week, take lessons from their disappointing first-half display.

“This is why I wanted this friendly,” Bellamy said. “I need to see our standing. What are our ambitions? What is our identity? Today fills me with drive.”

Fitness Worry for Watkins

Ollie Watkins was taken off at the break after clattering into a goalpost and is a concern when the national team play Latvia in the Latvian capital in a World Cup qualifying match on next week.
